FORTY DAYS + FORTY NIGHTS OF GLOOM.

Will it ever stop raining in Atlanta? Animals are legit gathering in pairs at this point. I am cold, I am tired of being inside, I refuse to do my hair. Thank God for hats and for cute, moderately-priced jackets. If you follow me on Snapchat (God bless), you probably saw that I wore this jacket out last night too. I am telling you, lazy at an all-time high.

Anyway, burgandy is the color of the year, so if you haven't already snapped up a piece, this is a VERY good one to start with! Trust me, I'm a doctor. Major props to my preggo bestie for snapping these pics in arctic temperatures for little to no pay. #freehugs

HAT / JACKET / TUNIC, similar (mine is H&M) / DENIM / BAG / FLATS (cheaper version here!)

One word of advice, if you order these jeans (which I basically live in), go up a size. I have them in a lighter wash as well, and had to buy a size up in the black because they have less stretchy juju. Don't say I never did anything for you. Back to the couch, my Gilties. The upside of this weather is that it's perfect for pizza, vino & a furry blanket or three.

M.I.A. IN MIA.

Hi from a Miami-induced coma, my Gilties! I missed you so. The weather there was so perfect, it's actually amazing that I came back home, but you know, couldn't make Coco an orphan. I meant to share this perfect summer romper with you sooner, but like I said..braindead.

Hope you guys had a great Easter weekend! I was home in SC and got my sweet Aunt Kathy to snap these pics on her farm. I love living in the city, but there is something so perfect about coming home to the country. I am only 5'7" by the way. My tiny mom makes me look like a giant freakshow, it's fine.

AREN'T YOU MARBLE-OUS.

Springgggg, you guys. I can't even express how excited that word makes me. Spring means fun prints and lighter fabrics and THIS marble-ous skirt. I am VERY into marble right now. Remember the contact paper? I want it everywhere. I want it in my kitchen (apparently not okay in a rental?). I want it on my bod. I want it on my Macbook. I want it err-where and I want it now.

This pencil skirt is one half of a two-piece set I have, but I decided to ditch the top this time and go with my longtime lover, black. [I put the link to the matching crop at the bottom too!] It's that kind of scuba-ish material that hugs your body in all the right places, but also let's you breathe which is semi-important to me. I am kind of dying over the way all of the hateful "squeeze squeeze squeezes" in barre class are lifting my boo-tay, so let's parade it around okay? #ifoundyoumsnewbooty

KIMON-OVER.

I feel like I was really reaching with that title. Kimono? C'mon over? Anyone? No, okay. That's what I thought, but hey, A+ for effort. So I actually bought this leopard situation as a beach cover-up way back when I lived in Boston (shout out Shabu Zen!), but was inspired by this picture on Pinterest, and whipped up this Spring outfit that I am actually loving. Who doesn't love to be swaddled in leopard while also recycling items you already own? People that can't be trusted, that's who.

ROMPER ROOM PART I: HIGH VS. LOW.

When rompers came back as an acceptable option for adults, I went overboard and bought tons. I know, how unlike me. Ahem. That said, they are not always the easiest for me to find, considering I have the longest torso in the world, and many of them are too short-waisted for me. There is nothing more irritating. There have been actual tears on more than one occasion in more than one dressing room. One day, you guys, I WILL start a line of clothing for long-torsoed people. I have a dream…of a long inseam.

I digress. I love that rompers are an instant outfit that take zero effort because there is no "putting together" involved, but also that they are super chic and can be dressed up or down. Consider this part one of a two part-series I am going to throw at you guys. It is basically a high vs. low for price range, but also a higher (i.e. dressier) look vs. a low-key, vacay style option. Capiche?

PART I: HIGH
PHOTOGRAPHY BY MOET ON STELLA

I am totally obsessed with this boho number by Lavender Brown. I love the way the long flowy sleeves allow you to pair it with a bootie for spring, but the gauzy fabric is also light enough for me to wear this summer in the ATL heat. A little more pricey, but transitional, y'all. The booties were a Christmas gift from my Momma-girl. She just gets it. What is your favorite way to wear a romper? Part II coming at you tomorrow!

WHITE DENIM + THE THIRD-PIECE RULE.

White is actually my very favorite (non)color to wear, so when wearing white year-round became acceptable, I was pretty eager about it. You guys, I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing beats AG Jeans. This pair is a little looser than my beloved ankle leggings, which makes them perfect for cuffing at the ankle. My legs are short compared to my freakishly long torso, so my jean-to-bootie ratio just looks better with a little skin peek-a-boo in between. These are also skinny enough to tuck into a knee-high boot, which is exactly what I plan to do with them next.

Side note: I have been LIVING BY the "third-piece rule" ever since reading this post on WHO WHAT WEAR. It is the simplest, but it makes total sense. Basically, you just add a "third-piece" (i.e. a blazer, a scarf, or a belt) to any outfit to make it a little more complete, and make you a LOT more style-savvy. With this simple sweater + jeans combo, I opted for adding the denim jacket around my waist to break up the black and white. A side piece, if you will. (too soon?) Technically, the scarf could also be my third-piece, but I got a little carried away. What's your favorite third-piece?

IT'S ELECTRIC: SCENE-STEALING MINI BAG.

I looked like a cockatoo for most of this shoot, and I hateeee birds, but it was phenomenal. Let's talk details. I am all about a big bag, but the super bright minis this season have really been tugging at my heartstrings. I decided to treat myself to this pop of pink from Target as a test drive and I LOVE it. It also comes in green, and at a Target price, I can't promise I won't snag that one too. Sorry not sorry.

ALL ABOUT THAT BEIGE.

Sometimes I find a staple piece so good, that I can't help but buy it in multiple colors. That is exactly how I felt when I came face to face with this drapey capey top in Shelvie Jean Boutique. I tried it on in this greige tone and in black, then promptly bought both and skipped all the way home. Okay, skipped all the way to my car. Forty minutes of skipping would have been a little bit absurd, even for my standards.

P.P.S. In news regarding my face, I got my brows tinted today. Big moves over here! I have the blondest brows and sometimes they are even a little too flesh-toned. (SICK…remember Spencer's flesh-colored beard!? I can't, I'm laughing..) Will report back to let you guys know how I likeee.

STREET STYLE: NIKE FOR J.CREW.

Back to the grind, Valentines. I hope you are all as loved up and ready for the work week as I am. It's no secret that I am a heel girl, but I was a HUGE tomboy (hugeee) for the first half of my life, and my love for a good sneaker has never gone away. When I heard Nike was teaming up with J.Crew, I knew my debit card would be entering into crisis mode with a quickness. Add in a subtle snakeskin print? Waves. White. Flag. Here's my take on a lazy, but beautiful Sunday afternoon in West Midtown.

"The wind, you guys. Is this really necessary?" I was seriously feeling Kourt K. throughout this windblow shoot. #lipglossinhair Another disclaimer? I dribbled my spinach & feta wrap down the front of my sweater moments before we started. Not my day people, not my day. Sometimes all you need is one more coffee and everything falls into place.

BELT IT OUT: BURGANDY JUMPSUIT.

It's almost V-day and you know what that means. I am seeing all shades of RED. You guys know I love a good jumpsuit and this one dead serious called my name from across the room. This is another amazing find from Shelvie Jean and it is $42. I meeean…STEAL. I paired it with my old faithful H&M blazer and those French Connection pumps I picked up on NYE, accessorized with my stackable rings from shopalix.com and finished it off with a French Connection clutch. A little monochromatic dressing can go a very long way. Links to shop are below these 763 photos of moi!

This would be such a chic Valentine's Day moment! Unexpectedly sexy, while still keeping it classy. GILTY 101, y'all. Class stays in sesson.
SIDE NOTE: I just added a link to ATL's best March pawrty...LEPRE*CON. Click on the gorg glittery icon at the top of my page for a special discount. Tix are only $10 for now! Aren't you lucky.

SHOP LOCAL: SHELVIE JEAN.

I am all about shopping locally and supporting small businesses. Especially when it comes down to adorable and affordable boutiques like Shelvie Jean. Their Covington, GA location has only been open for a few months now, but they also sell online via their website, www.shelviejean.com, as well as their Facebook profile. On top of having a great inventory, almost everything in the store is less than $100.00. I was lucky enough to swing by right after New Year's and fell head over high heels in love with this cape. Even better? It's reversible. Perfect for this heinous Georgia fog we have been living in!

LINE TO LOVE: ALIXANDRA COLLECTIONS.

Emergency WINE-1-1. Are you guys surviving this arctic blast? I am hating it very much, but it does give me a chance to stay bundled in my favorite scarves. If you haven't shopped their site before, Alixandra Collections has the ever popular blanket scarf in every color. I just discovered this site and it has quickly become my go-to for accesories, including jewelry. We did this "breakfast at Nordstrom" style shoot BEFORE work yesterday morning. To say I could not feel my fingers would be a very large understatement. Don't say I never did anything for you.

NYE STYLE RECAP.

Happy New Year!! Has everyone made and broken their resolutions? I am not a big resolution girl myself, I just usually decide to focus on trying to better myself in small ways here and there. I love Bethenny Frankel's quote, "Do what you can." As long as you are doing what you can, you can never disappoint yourself. Today for me that meant sleeping in, watching HGTV over my mid-morning coffee and finishing tonight with a 3 mile walk and some couch time with Coco girl. Doesn't take much!

Let's talk NYE for one more minute. I found this fun gold foil jumpsuit at Topshop in Nordstrom. It was $75 and I bought it and then promptly returned it. I can be very indecisive. Anyway, I decided I wanted it again, went back to grab it and found it on sale for $37! MAJOR win. This is what I call "outFATE"..outfit fate. Thank you, shopping Gods.
I wore this H&M blazer as my jacket, which I eventually shed and abandoned at the coat check. NYE, y'all. Never fear, she is home now safe & sound. I also decided to throw it back to the hoop earring. Shout out, Icing.

This is the only pic I have of the BCBG booties I wore with it. Super comfy and they hit at a flattering part of the ankle, which is VERY important in a bootie when you are bare-leggin' it. I got these at DSW, but there are tons of similar options available right now.
Thursday I was super impressed with myself for popping out of bed and turning my swag on, like Willow Smith. Just snagged these burgandy French Connection pumps at DSW. The hat is Forever 21!
After such a fun few days, Coco and I spent most of yesterday and today like this. My mom got me this Nate Berkus throw for Christmas and neither of us are ever moving from underneath it. Back to the grind tomorrow, kittens! I am shooting some great looks this week, so stay tuned!

ME & MY TEDDY(BEAR COAT).

Happy almost 2015! Where did this year go though, I mean really? I just want to thank everyone SO much for following along with me on my little blog journey since I started GILTY back in June. Your support & feedback mean more to me than I can put into words, and you are the reason I keep going! Hope everyone has a safe and amazing NYE. Here is one last outfit post to ring in the New Year!

HOLIDAY CHEER(S).

Merry Christmas Eve, Gilties! Hope you are all snuggled up with family & lovahs. I haven't left my pajamas yet and don't plan on it until tonight's festivities. Speaking of festivities, I have teamed up with one of my very favorites, La Marca prosecco, to bring you this mini holiday tablescape. No space is too small to decorate this time of year. Even my tiny one bedroom apartment can be transformed with a little holiday zhush and a lot of bubbly in your glass. Jingle this, babies. #Lamarcable

CHAMPAGNE PRINT / PILLOWS(Target, similar) / PYTHON TRAY

After this shoot, I actually scotch-guarded those pillows and used them on my patio. They are the cutest and I am so mad at Target for not having them on their website! My little feather tree is another Target find and I have a wreath that matches. I bought those for my first Christmas in ATL and this is my 3rd! Love when that happens. I love to decorate with neutrals like white and then throw in glassware I already have and leftover corks to tie it all together…plus it's free!

For an easy, delicious and festive drink to make your Christmas Eve #Lamarcable, try a Poinsettia: add cranberry juice to your La Marca prosecco and squeeze lemon juice on top. SO easy and so good. Merry Merry!
