WHAT TO WEAR: RAP CONCERT.

You may not be aware, but over the weekend, Drake and I turned 29. That's right. There is a whole lot of OVO going on over here. We are basically related. #102486 Based on this and the fact that I am going to Kendrick Lamar tonight, it's only fitting that I do a little post on WTW to a rap concert. My life is your life, people. Embrace it.

FRINGE JACKET / DOUBLE RING / TANK / EAR CUFF / DISTRESSED DENIM / BAG / LACE UP HEELS / LIP COLOR / DENIM JACKET / SNEAKERS

As I see it, you have two real options. You can take the glam route (think Khloe Kardashian at a Lakers game), or you can go for a more casual look using the same destroyed black skinnys as your base. Personally, I am obsessed with both. I love an opportunity to wear a sneak or two. Also, unless it is the middle of summer and outdoors, I always dress in layers for concerts. You never know if the venue is going to be stifling or trying to freeze you out, so it's better to come prepared.

It is currently freezing and pouring down rain in ATL, so I am sure to look like the drowned rat version of whichever look I choose. Dear weatherman, don't kill my vibe.

MUTE BUTTON: THE LONG & SHORT OF IT.

Wednesday night I went to dinner with two of my best girls, Amanda & Courtney. We try to do a weekly date, but life usually gets in the way and it's more like a bi-monthly date. This time we went to Cibo E Beve, one of our faves, and caught up over shared Italian small plates & bubbly. There may or may not have even been free mini canolis to finish off the night. <Shout out to Eileen> Love.
ATL traffic. Obsessed with these Sole Society sunnies.
We met right after work and traffic was its usual bitchy self, so I just ran home and swapped my black suit pants for my favorite pair of white J.Crew denim & switched bags. Voila. Day to night.
neutral outfit, white jeans
Top: H&M (similar) / Necklace: Stella Dot / Pants: J.Crew / Shoes: Steven Madden
Note the suitcase in the background. I haven't even pretended to start unpacking from Europe. Kill me.

Anyway, last night was date night and the boyf & I went to a concert at The Tabernacle. It was a much more casual scene, so I wore a shorter version of the same muted look and swapped my heels for booties:
neutral, target, booties, sosie tee, white shorts
Tee: Sosie / Shorts: Express (similar) / Necklace: Similar here / Booties: Target
Sighhhh. I love when outfits work out just the way I pictured they would.
What's up for the weekend? Is it 6 yet?

POST-WEEKEND RECAP.

Happy Monday, friends. I apologize for my absence yesterday. I won't bore you with the details of where I was, but there were mimosas involved. Today is my Sunday, because we, in the Leasing world, work weekends. Yayy. Anyway, I love having a weekday off while everyone else is working to recharge my batteries and generally just get shiz done.

So far today, that shiz list has included setting up Coco's new kitty carrier (all leopard, all the time), doing the 21 Day Fix Cardio workout with my presh friend Megan/briefly lying on my floor immediately after that, a trip to Publix for 21 Day Fix approved meals & now finally, a date with you over a Glam Glow Mud Mask. I am leaving for Europe with the boy in just 10 short days and am really trying to put my best face forward. Priorities people.

Here are a few snaps from my weekend. If you are already following my Instagram(s), you have probably already seen these. If you aren't that's kind of rude, so go follow me @harrisonsapp4 and @giltyaschgd so you won't miss a single thing!

Scooped up these minis for Europe at Sephora & scored the presh travel bag for free!
Final outfit choice for Tim Mcgraw: Top: TOBI / Cut-offs: True Religion
Best $5 I've ever spent.
Did I mention my boss took me? Incredible. Love her.
Coco girl loving on her new ride.
A little outfit planning for Europe. Tags to come!
That's a wrap, girlfriends. Back to pretending this kale salad is a Chick-fil-a #5 eight piece.

GETTIN' DOWN ON THE FARM.

TGIF, y'all. For real. Summer weekends in the South call for Country music and this particular weekend calls for a little extra. The other man in my life, Tim McGraw, is playing in ATL Sunday night & I will be there with bells on. Er, boots. I will be there with boots on. I try to see him at LEAST once a year. It's love.

As with every other event I commit to, this begs the question: what the hell should I wear? Let me break it down. I feel like my personality for a Country concert can go one of three ways. I can either be the girl that acts nonchalant and dresses like a cuter version of one of the guys (optional addition: renting a pick-up truck for the night), I can go super girly with a side of sex appeal à la Jessie James in all of her videos, or I can step totally outside of the box and do a little modern twist on a blend of the previous options, i.e. denim on denim. I can do all three of these with the same pair of cut-off shorts. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is a visual aid:

Ralph Lauren Chambray / Topshop Rag & Bone Denim / American Eagle / Frye Boots / Elyse Walker Los Angeles Fringe Booties / Frye Boots / Felt Hat / Cult Gaia Flower Garland / Cowgirl Hat

This is the second time in one week that I have blogged about those Elyse Walker booties. I am obsessed & do not care who knows it.

How do we all feel about this denim on denim scenario? I really liked the way Kim Kardashian did it here, but it's definitely bordering on the great Britney & Justin MTV Awards fiasco of 2001. Risky business.

Thankfully, I have two more nights to figure out which one of these country girls I want to be, so stay tuned. Life is so hard.
