The weather in Atlanta has been so back and forth this past week. It's been everything from warm to slightly chilly, to straight up cold, but I am loving it because I know soon it will be 300 degrees with 97% humidity and we will all be sweating 23 hours a day. I am taking full advantage of these in between days and wearing some of my favorite coats one last time.

HELLO...IT'S ME.

Uhh..hi? I am so sooooo SO sorry for my absence, babes. I was legit deathly ill for an entire week. Okay, so I had a sinus infection, but it was TERRIBLE. I missed almost three full days of work (which is unheard of for me, by the way) and had a constant fever that kept me very horizontal on my couch with 'Making a Murderer' and my feline daughter. Needless to say, I needed a little break, BUT I AM BACK and almost feeling 100%. Almost. I just lost an eyelash in my tea. I am crying watching my dvr-ed Catelynn and Tyler's wedding. It's definitely the Mondayest Tuesday ever.

I got this jacket at the end of the season last year on major sale at H&M and legit forgot about it until I was going through my closet last month. Sad. #jackethoardersanonymous I found a pretty solid double for it this year that is only $59! I always go through the sale section on H&M's website, they mark things down tremendously and you can snag some pretty amazing pieces if you act fast.

KIMON-OVER.

I feel like I was really reaching with that title. Kimono? C'mon over? Anyone? No, okay. That's what I thought, but hey, A+ for effort. So I actually bought this leopard situation as a beach cover-up way back when I lived in Boston (shout out Shabu Zen!), but was inspired by this picture on Pinterest, and whipped up this Spring outfit that I am actually loving. Who doesn't love to be swaddled in leopard while also recycling items you already own? People that can't be trusted, that's who.

WHITE DENIM + THE THIRD-PIECE RULE.

White is actually my very favorite (non)color to wear, so when wearing white year-round became acceptable, I was pretty eager about it. You guys, I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing beats AG Jeans. This pair is a little looser than my beloved ankle leggings, which makes them perfect for cuffing at the ankle. My legs are short compared to my freakishly long torso, so my jean-to-bootie ratio just looks better with a little skin peek-a-boo in between. These are also skinny enough to tuck into a knee-high boot, which is exactly what I plan to do with them next.

Side note: I have been LIVING BY the "third-piece rule" ever since reading this post on WHO WHAT WEAR. It is the simplest, but it makes total sense. Basically, you just add a "third-piece" (i.e. a blazer, a scarf, or a belt) to any outfit to make it a little more complete, and make you a LOT more style-savvy. With this simple sweater + jeans combo, I opted for adding the denim jacket around my waist to break up the black and white. A side piece, if you will. (too soon?) Technically, the scarf could also be my third-piece, but I got a little carried away. What's your favorite third-piece?

IT'S ELECTRIC: SCENE-STEALING MINI BAG.

I looked like a cockatoo for most of this shoot, and I hateeee birds, but it was phenomenal. Let's talk details. I am all about a big bag, but the super bright minis this season have really been tugging at my heartstrings. I decided to treat myself to this pop of pink from Target as a test drive and I LOVE it. It also comes in green, and at a Target price, I can't promise I won't snag that one too. Sorry not sorry.

STREET STYLE: NIKE FOR J.CREW.

Back to the grind, Valentines. I hope you are all as loved up and ready for the work week as I am. It's no secret that I am a heel girl, but I was a HUGE tomboy (hugeee) for the first half of my life, and my love for a good sneaker has never gone away. When I heard Nike was teaming up with J.Crew, I knew my debit card would be entering into crisis mode with a quickness. Add in a subtle snakeskin print? Waves. White. Flag. Here's my take on a lazy, but beautiful Sunday afternoon in West Midtown.

It's almost V-day and you know what that means. I am seeing all shades of RED. You guys know I love a good jumpsuit and this one dead serious called my name from across the room. NYE STYLE RECAP.

Happy New Year!! Has everyone made and broken their resolutions? I am not a big resolution girl myself, I just usually decide to focus on trying to better myself in small ways here and there. I love Bethenny Frankel's quote, "Do what you can." As long as you are doing what you can, you can never disappoint yourself. Today for me that meant sleeping in, watching HGTV over my mid-morning coffee and finishing tonight with a 3 mile walk and some couch time with Coco girl. Doesn't take much! 

Let's talk NYE for one more minute. I found this fun gold foil jumpsuit at Topshop in Nordstrom. It was $75 and I bought it and then promptly returned it. I can be very indecisive. Anyway, I decided I wanted it again, went back to grab it and found it on sale for $37! MAJOR win. This is what I call "outFATE"..outfit fate. Thank you, shopping Gods.

I wore this H&M blazer as my jacket, which I eventually shed and abandoned at the coat check. NYE, y'all. Never fear, she is home now safe & sound. I also decided to throw it back to the hoop earring. Shout out, Icing.

This is the only pic I have of the BCBG booties I wore with it. Super comfy and they hit at a flattering part of the ankle, which is VERY important in a bootie when you are bare-leggin' it. I got these at DSW, but there are tons of similar options available right now.
Thursday I was super impressed with myself for popping out of bed and turning my swag on, like Willow Smith. Just snagged these burgandy French Connection pumps at DSW. The hat is Forever 21!

So it's way past hump day, but here's a little camel for ya. HAA. Ugh, I have only had one cup of coffee, forgive me for that. Black + tan is one of the most obvious and classic of color combos and I just can't get enough of it. It all started with these Kate Spade gloves. I spotted them last year on a trip back to Boston, and knew I had to make them mine. And the SHOES. I almost don't have words. People, they are BCBG. Almost too good to share, but I love ya so and I feel all Christmussy inside.

Comin' atcha from SC tonight, frands. I am all about lumberjack chic-ness right now. It's time to #tbt, channel your inner Pippi Longstocking, and embrace the braid. This is by far the easiest look to throw together and the best part is, it's probably already in your closet…or your Dad's closet? It's fine. Wear it. Relax, it's not fur real. Lately I have realized that I only like things that are wine-colored, or that are actual wine. I am feeling some serious weekend vibes today, y'all. That means my hair is washed, my spray tan is fresh and my mani/pedi is matching in one of my fave OPI shades, Big Apple Red. It is Friday and it is real. Before I send you off to your weekend debauchery, let's talk oversized sweaterish things. What color is this even? I'm going to call it 'pumpkin' because 'tis the season and also YOLO. This one is so comfy, but still chic with the faux-leather paneling, AND I love how long it is. There is something about mixing leather & calf-hair that I just cannot get enough of. I topped this whole 'fit off with a hat because let's face it, I didn't feel like doing anything with my hair. LET'S GET GRAPHIC.

The very best part about temperatures dropping is the ability to layer without dying of a heat stroke or requiring an IV drip. Throwing a blazer and a statement necklace on over a graphic tee is the lazy girl's way to look put together faster than you can say pumpkin spice latte. This "MORE ISSUES THAN VOGUE" shirt spoke to me something serious. I made this uniform look a little more fun by pairing it with my brand new birthday booties that just came out of the box screaming to be featured this week. My leopa-lepsy is only getting worse, never better.

GOODY BLUE SHOES.

HOLY. WEEKEND. I realize it is Tuesday, but it's my Monday and the start of a 9 day work week, so bear with me while I play catch up.

One of my very best friends from college came to visit me this weekend and we acted like we were still in college, which is a lot harder to recover from when you are elderly. You know the type of friend that you can go months without seeing, you pick things up right where you left off, and she knows what you are thinking before you say a single word? That's what Ashley is to me. We met Freshman year at CofC in our Biology lab, fell head over Rainbows in love, and we never looked back. I taught her to make sure her A&F jeans were always long enough for her heels, and she taught me how to make a decent meal & uncork a wine bottle. The second more important than the first.

Basically, our weekend consisted of sing-alongs in various cars, champagne(both cheap & fancy), harassing Baby Coco, a live guitarist and several Uber drivers, and lying in bed ugly-laughing over the previous night's snaps. Now that Ashley has left me, I am all depressed, my spray tan is fading and I'm sort of starving because she cooked for me all weekend. See what I mean? Love that girl.
I have come to the completely rational conclusion that the only cure for best friend blues is blue suede shoes. These little cobalt beauties caught my eye at the beginning of the summer and I knew immediately I wanted to pair them with the perfect white blazer. I live for a white blazer this time of year. It's the perfect piece to carry you from warm days to cooler nights, while looking completely chic the entire way. Let's get to the visuals.

LAZY DAYS & LATTES.

Happy Weekend, babies! Last night I went to a casual Tacos & Tequilas dinner with my girlfriends that turned into an all-night affair, complete with Cards Against Humanity. My friends are very fun, it's impossible not to love them. I capped all of this off with a slumber party at my best friend Amanda's where we had fourth meal, courtesy of Domino's, and ordered a $16 movie On Demand. #ShameRattle Needless to say, we earned our caffeine this a.m.
